I have always found Providence’s East Side to be visually inspiring, and I’ve begun working on a collection of oil paintings that will hopefully capture some of its inherent magic and beauty in a wintery setting. Working in oils has been an adventurous, messy and somewhat intimidating experience, having used pencil for so long with regard to my involvement with book illustration. However, I am finding working with color very exciting and gratifyingas I continue to understand the properties and techniques of painting.
